Well I?m off to upstate NY and Vermont today for a little editorial research.
Thanks to the suggestion of a reader, I recently learned about John Dillon Park, which is specifically designed to accommodate wheelchair-users. Located in the heart of the Adirondacks this accessible recreation area features a small visitors center, docks, trails and a number of lean-tos (for overnight use) ? all of which are accessible. It?s not slated to officially open till next month, but I?ve arranged a special sneak peak so I can cover it for Emerging Horizons.
I?ve also found a number of other accessible lodgings and attractions in the area, so I expect it will be a very productive trip. I?ll keep you updated.
