Last week as I was checking out the access at some Cleveland hotels, I happened across a wonderful access option at the Intercontinental Hotel. Now granted they have every bit of access you could ever want in their accessible rooms, but they went one step further to make some of their standard rooms accessible to people who don?t need a fully adapted room.
They have removable grab bars (the suction cup kind) that they can install in any room.
What a great idea!
Now people who have had a stroke or lack balance and need toilet or shower grab bars in a very specific place can be accommodated too. And they don?t have to take an accessible room out of inventory just because somebody needs grab bars. And in the end, this means better access for everyone.
What a great idea! Kudos to the Cleveland Intercontinental for doing this.
I wish more hotels would follow their example.
