With the minutes ticking away till the 2012 Olympics, London is ramping up their access efforts with a new on-line resource. Published on the Visit London website at www.visitlondon.com/maps/accessibility/, this new resource contains access information on public transportion, hotels, theaters and attractions throughout London.
The attractions section includes a narrative description of the access features of each attraction plus a link to the attraction’s website; while the theater section features access maps to some of London’s major theaters. The public transportation section includes details about bus and tube accessibility, plus a link to the excellent Getting Around London Access Guide. And finally, the hotels sections details how many accessible rooms are at the listed hotels, with notes about which hotels have rooms with roll-in showers and hoists.
