My friends in Myrtle Beach recently sent me these cool deals on some accessible attractions in their city.
The folks at Hawaiian Village Miniature Golf are offering a buy one get one free deal, on all day play from 9 am till 5pm. They also report that one of their courses is wheelchair-accessible. And lest you think that’s not possible, I can assure you it is; as I’ve played on several accessible mini golf courses in my time. Hawaiian Village Miniature Golf Course is located on 43rd Avenue South at Highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach.
If you’d like to enjoy a unique historic attraction, then head over to Huntington Beach State Park and visit Atalaya. This National Historical Landmark is the former winter home of Archer and Ann Hyatt Huntington, and admission is a very affordable $1. The Moorish structure is wheelchair-accessible, however park Ranger Elizabeth Moses notes that some of the floors may be a little bumpy, and sometimes you have to backtrack to access the ramps. Still, it’s all on one level and very doable for wheelchair-users and slow walkers. For more information, visit Huntington Beach State Park.
Have fun in Myrtle Beach!
