Over the years I’ve answered a lot of questions posed by reporters, writers and readers. Granted the subject matter has been diverse (bordering on unusual at times); however there are a few topics that continue to resurface.
Budget travel is one of those topics. And in this economy, it seems to be even more of a pressing issue.
Is it really possible for disabled travelers to travel on the cheap? Or get deals? Or discounts? Or even freebies?
Although there are folks who insist that it costs more for accessible accommodations, I’m not of that ilk. Sure you can spend big bucks for luxury travel if you want to, but you don’t have to. In fact, I’ve written many articles over the years about accessible and affordable destinations, lodging options and tours. And even freebies and discounts available to disabled travelers.
Now, I’ve taken it one step further. I’ve created a new blog about the subject – Barrier Free Travel on the Cheap.
The tagline pretty much nails the content description – travel discounts, deals and freebies for slow walkers to wheelchair-users.
It includes everything from free access guides and airfare discounts to lodging deals, free tours and even a few budget travel tips thrown in here and there. Some of the deals are time sensitive, while others are evergreen.
So check it out. And if you have any great deals or tips, let me know and I’ll pass them along to my readers.
Additionally, due to popular request, this new blog will allow comments (although to prevent spam they do have to be approved). And don’t worry, I’ll still keep blogging here; it’s just that there are certainly enough budget travel resources to warrant their own little piece of cyber real estate. Just consider it an expansion – after all accessible travel really is growing in popularity.
So, surf on over and check out Barrier Free Travel on the Cheap today.
And let me know what you think!
