My friend Lola just wrote to tell about the great deal for wheelchair-users at Boston’s New England Aquarium. The deal is pretty simple — all wheelchair-users are admitted free. That’s a cool $20 savings!
Access is excellent throughout the aquarium too, with barrier-free access to all public areas, including ramped access to the Giant Ocean Tank Exhibit. There is elevator access to all floors; and many of the tanks extend to the floor, which is a great plus for wheelchair-users. Plus there are eight wheelchair-spaces in the IMAX theater.
And if you’d like a bite to eat during your visit, then check out the aquarium’s Harbor View Caf?, which offers a great view of the harbor and the Boston skyline.
All in all, the New England Aquarium is a very accessible and affordable way to spend a day.
Thanks for the heads-up Lola!
