If you’d like an accessible and affordable outdoor getaway, then head over to Greenleaf State Park in Eastern Oklahoma. Not only is there no admission charge to the park, but the accessible Cabin on the Lake rents for a very affordable $63 per night. But the catch is, you have to be disabled to take advantage of that discounted rate.
Built by the Telephone Pioneers of America, the cabin features a large great room with two sleeper sofas, an adjacent kitchen and dining area and an oversized bedroom furnished with a queen-sized bed an a twin hospital bed. The bathroom is equipped with a roll-in shower with a fold down shower seat and a hand-held showerhead, grab bars in the shower and around the toilet and a roll-under sink.
Best of all, there is level access down to your own private dock.
Advance planning is essential to secure a reservation at the Cabin on the Lake. Applications for the following year are taken beginning September 10; however any applications received or postmarked before that date will not be accepted.
