Avid researcher Joy Taylor just dropped me a note to let me know about the fee free weekends at 100 National Parks throughout the US. During these special weekends there’s no charge for entrance fees, commercial tour fees or transportation entrance fees. Camping fees and fees collected by third parties are not included; but hey, it’s still a great deal.
These fee free weekends are slated for:
- June 20-21, 2009 (Father’s Day weekend)
- July 18-19, 2009 (my birthday weekend)
- August 15-16, 2009
And the great news is, most National Parks have at least some accessible trails and facilities. Check out the individual park websites at www.nps.gov for specific access details.
So if you are thinking about visiting a National Park but don’t have theAmerica the Beautiful Access Pass yet, then plan a visit for one of the fee free weekends. You just can’t beat the price!
