If a trip to Denver is in your future, then be sure and make plans to tour the Denver Mint. Although there’s no charge for this popular tour, a little advance planning is necessary to ensure your place.
Tours are offered at the top of every hour on weekdays, from 8 AM till 2 PM. Reservations are required for all tours; and they can be made on the Denver Mint website, or at the visitors center, which is located on Cherokee Street between 14th and Colfax Avenues. Reservations may be made up to two months in advance. Same day reservations are sometimes available, but if you really want to take this tour, it’s best to schedule your visit well in advance.
Visitors should also be aware that there are restrictions on items you can bring into the mint. Basically you are limited to a pocket sized wallet or change purse. There are no storage facilities available at the mint, so just leave the rest of your belongings in your car.
The entire tour is wheelchair-accessible, so everyone can enjoy it.
And no, I’m sorry, but they don’t give out free samples.
