Free Adaptive Kayaking on Wisconsin Lake

Spring is in the air, and it’s the perfect time to get out and start enjoying nature. To that end my friend Andy Janicki has a great adaptive kayaking trip planned for Saturday May 26, from 10-4 on Mirror Lake, just west of Portage, Wisconsin.

Best of all it’s free!!

The trip is for people of all abilities and adaptive kayaks with outriggers and a specialized seating system will be available. Additionally, adaptive paddles will be available for folks who have a limited grip. Able bodied friends and family are welcome too, and you can bring your own standard kayak or rent one at the lake.

I’ve never been to Mirror Lake – an oversight I’ll have to correct – but I hear it’s surrounded by beautiful gorges and sandstone cliffs. Unfortunately it’s a little far for me to go for a weekend trip; and come to think of it, I’ll bed in Belize anyway.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t go. So spread the word and give Andy a call to sign up for this fun trip. He can be reached at andrew.janicki@wisconsin.gov or (608) 267-7490.

Happy paddling!
