Nostalgic Road Trip Stop in Cedar City, Utah

Whipping up a tasty treat at Bulloch Drug in Cedar City, Utah.

Nothing screams road trip like a little nostalgia. And for a cool blast from the past, be sure to stop in at Bulloch Drug on your next Zion or Bryce road trip. Just take exit 42, turn right on US 91, and tool on down the road till you see Bulloch Drug on your left. You can’t miss it.

And when you walk in this place, it’s like taking a trip back in time. In fact, it reminded me of the Rexall Drug store that my mom used to take me to when I was little.

There’s s certainly no shortage of cutesy things to buy at Bulloch Drug; however the best part of it all is the soda fountain. That’s right, an actual old time soda fountain, where you can order up a malt or a milkshake or even an Iron Port.

Yep, I said an Iron Port. No, it’s not a beer or a wine drink, but a regional specialty that kind of tastes like root beer peppered with Caribbean spices. It was a tad bit too sweet for me, but then I only drink diet sodas. And if you want to go the more traditional route, I have it on good authority that the malts and milkshakes are killer.

It’s just a cute little place, with several tables and even an old juke box. Even better, there’s level access to this historic building and plenty of room to roll around inside.

So next time you’re in the neighborhood, drop by for a little trip down memory lane. You’ll be glad you did!
