Megabus Expands to Mississippi

Those of you that know me, know that I’m a huge Megabus fan. I mean, seriously, who can’t get excited about comfortable, affordable and accessible bus transportation across the US? And with fares as low as $1, it really opens up America to a lot more people.

Of course the company started out small in America in 2006, with limited routes across the Eastern US. Over the years they added routes here and there, and now they even serve California and Nevada. And just last week they expanded their reach once again to include Mississippi. Now they serve 33 states, although I expect they won’t stop until they have routes covering all of the Continental US.

The latest expansion allows Jackson residents to travel to and from Memphis and New Orleans on three daily departures. Fares start at $1, and go up after more seats are sold. For the best deals, industry insiders advise folks to travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

In addition to affordable fares, Megabus offers state-of-the-art, green-certified double-decker buses with free Wi-Fi, power outlets and seat belts. Customers who need a wheelchair-accessible bus can make reservations on the Megabus website or call (877) GO2-MEGA for assistance. So start planning that winter getaway to the Big Easy. It’s well within your reach now, thanks to Megabus.
