Some would say we are taking the scenic route to Iceland, as we are taking a road trip up through Washington and Oregon and then flying to Reykjavik from Seattle.
Why, you ask?
Well, I’m kind of killing two birds with one stone. While I am on the road I will be wrapping up my research for Resting Easy in the US; Unique Lodging Options for Wheelers and Slow Walkers. I’m going to look at some cool properties near Lassen, Crater Lake, Mt. Rainier and Olympic National Parks, as well as South Beach and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Parks. And apparently I’m going to do video promos for my next two books while I’m in the neighborhood.
Then I’m done. This book was really research intensive, but I’m very happy with the results. Look for it next spring!
Of course Iceland promises to be rewarding as well, as I have a line on a number of accessible sites and accessible transportation. In the beginning I was thinking Iceland might not be that accessible, but I have to say that I’m glad I’m wrong.
And yes, I do know about the volcano. It’s not a big worry at this time.
As always I will be chiming in with updates from the road about new accessible finds along the way, so stay tuned.
