Although I always encourage folks to plan ahead when it comes to accessible travel, sometimes things don't quite work out that way.
Such is the case with one reader who is a self-defined slow walker. She can't do distances at all, and she needs to sit down and rest a lot. At home, she uses a scooter when she shops at stores that provide them; but otherwise she just takes things at her own pace.

Free Deep Sea Fishing in Mexico
Larry Cooper loves to fish. So much so, that after a car accident made him a C-5/6 quadriplegic, he designed a wheelchair-accessible deep sea fishing boat with specialized equipment, so he could continue to enjoy his favorite sport. And although he charters the boat out to all fisherman, he also lets wheelchair-users fish for free. Plus he gives them a discount on their lodging.

You Never Know When You'll Need Your Passport
As I was renewing my California driver's license last week, my thoughts turned to airport security and the TSA. Pretty much at the exact time the clerk punched a hole through the expiration date on my license and handed me a piece of paper to carry along with it for the next 30 days. It didn't look very official at all.
