Well, it's been a busy month since the release of the third edition of
Barrier Free Travel: A Nuts and Bolts Guide for Wheelers and Slow Walkers. And to mark that momentous occasion I went on a virtual book tour. Well, I didn't actually go anywhere but I did make guest appearances on a number of blogs and websites. From interviews and guest blogs, to reviews and even a fun contest, I definitely made the rounds.
So, in case you missed it, here are the links to my stops on the tour.
My tour got off to a rip-roaring start with reviews by Donna Airoldi
on Travel Muse;
Claire Walter on Travel Babel;
Connie George on Wheelchair Cruising and Shelley Seale on the Austin Sustainable Travel Examiner.
Next I popped in for a guest blog on the Go Frugal Blog with a piece on
Eleven Budget Tips for Disabled Travelers. That blog post was later mentioned by the New York Times Frugal
Traveler, as one of his favorite resources.
My next stop was on Ellen Barone's, Travel Tips & Trips blog, with
a guest post about Accessing the Friendly Skies.
Then it was off to Patty Pietschman's, Savvy Seafarer blog, to tell her
readers about accessible shore excursions.
Next I made a stop at Vera Marie Badertscher's, A Traveler's Library,
to do a fun post about a book that inspired me to take my first trip to
Vietnam.
Then it was on to Diane Daniel's, Paces We Go, People We See blog, for
a guest post about My Wow List - cool accessible finds I've discovered
in my travels.
Next it was time for an interview by Kara Williams (aka Mountain Mama)
on the Traveling Mamas blog. This was followed by an encore appearance a few days later when I
helped Kara out with a question from a reader who was looking for
travel suggestions for her disabled son.
My next stop was Richard Earl's, Travel Research Online website, for
Travel agents; where I wrote an article about tips to share with your
disabled clients.
Then if was off to Peter Greenberg Worldwide to do a piece on the
recent changes in the Air Carrier Access Act. Actually that one turned into a permanent gig.
Still on the subject or air travel, I then did a guest blog on Scott
Rain's, Rolling Rains blog, about common questions on the Air Carrier
Access Act.
Then it was Nancy Parode's turn to interview me on her About.com Senior
Travel website.
And although Jenna Schnuer technically interviewed me a few months ago
for her Flyover America blog, it was re-launched during my virtual book
tour, so I decided to include it as well.
Then it was time to wrap up my Twitter Book Giveaway.
The lucky winners were
@m_d_port and @GilbertGuide.
And, last but not least, Jessie Voigts interviewed me for her Wandering Educators blog.
Like I said, it was a busy month. But fun. And even though my virtual
book tour is officially over, I'm always open to doing interviews and
guest blogs. So just give me a holler if the need arises.
