ADA Watch and the National Coalition for Disability Rights (NCDR) recently announced a disability rights concert scheduled to take place at the Music Center at Strathmore on June 21, 2005.
Special musical guests will be Bruce Hornsby and Sweet Honey in the Rock.
Also on the program is a photographic presentation, "Images of the Disability Rights Struggle" by photjournalist Tom Olin.
The Music Center at Strathmore is located just outside of Washington DC (www.strathmore.org). Tickets are available at the box office or by phone at (301)581-5100. Special packages, which include a reception with the artists and premium seating, are available at (202)661-4722 or www.ADAwatch.org.
Proceeds from this special performance will benefit ADA Watch/NCDR, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit coalition of hundreds of organizations united to promote and strengthen the human rights of people with disabilities.
The official anniversary of the signing of the ADA is July 26, so if you can't make this celebration keep an eye out for events in your local area as the date approaches.
