Over the years the Duck Tape PR Folks have sent me press releases, samples, photos and videos about how to use their products when you travel. Some ideas were practical (keep it in the glove compartment in case a hose breaks); while others bordered on ludicrous (take a roll of tape and some bubble wrap to make a pillow on your next flight). And although the latter example provided me with ample fodder for a bevy of happy hour jokes; I'm pleased to announce that out-of-the-blue I actually stumbled upon a practical accessible travel use for the product.

As I was renewing my California driver's license last week, my thoughts turned to airport security and the TSA. Pretty much at the exact time the clerk punched a hole through the expiration date on my license and handed me a piece of paper to carry along with it for the next 30 days. It didn't look very official at all.

As the summer travel season revs up, more and more people will be hitting the road -- and the airports, and the hotels and the trains. And although it's frustrating when things go wrong, with the increased travel traffic, there are bound to be a few access glitches along the way. From flight delays to lost hotel reservations, anything is possible.

But don't let that discourage you from getting out there and enjoying life. Although there are bound to be a few hiccups in your trip; remember, the best way to resolve those problems is by keeping your cool.
